DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – CENTRE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

As part of our pursuit in technological and sustainable innovations, we are embarking on a new project to develop a revolutionary new extraction system for spent lithium-ion batteries (LIB) and we are currently looking for a motivated individual in the field of mechanical, environmental or chemical process engineering to join us as a Design & Development Officer (DDO)!
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supporting the Principal Investigator (PI) in pilot studies in operating chemical reactors and filtration systems.
- Providing support for the procurement and commissioning of the pilot extraction system.
- Day-to-day operations and maintenance of the pilot systems.
- Collecting data and documenting findings for project meetings and progress reports.
- Supporting the PI in procurement required for the project.
- Managing the waste generated from the project.
- Supporting the PI in the mentoring of student interns.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team and independently as well.
- Effective oral communication and good documentation abilities.
- Meticulous with experience in chemical laboratory techniques.
- Basic data analysis, technical report writing and presentation skills.
- Some knowledge in Environmental or Water Technologies preferred.
- Experience in operating chemical reactors and other relevant equipment will be advantageous.
- Recent polytechnic graduates are welcome to apply.
